Later this year, you might be able to meet Jack Skellington in a completely updated look.
Characters from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas have been a beloved part of Disney Parks for years. Fan favorites like Oogie Boogie, Sally, and of course Jack Skellington regularly appear—especially at Disneyland Paris during the Disney Halloween Festival and Disney Enchanted Christmas, often near Phantom Manor.
In recent Halloween seasons, Jack has often been joined by Sally. These meet & greets are so popular that wait times can quickly grow long. Despite their popularity, many fans on social media agreed that Jack’s costume could use some improvements, with some even comparing his current mask to that of an alien.

It seems Disney has listened to this feedback. On Instagram and TikTok, Disney Parks recently shared a sneak peek of the updated version of Jack in a short video featuring both Jack and Sally. The new look features a sleeker mask that fits more closely to the performer’s face. His mouth now stretches widely across his visage, much more accurately capturing the iconic skeletal grin from the film.
The updated Jack Skellington is expected to debut in August 2025 during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World Resort, where Halloween celebrations traditionally begin earlier than in other parks, followed by Disneyland Resort in California.
In Disneyland Paris, the Halloween season typically begins in early October and runs through the first week of November. During this time, guests can enjoy a wide variety of character meet & greets throughout the park, including classic Disney characters and villains.

The official character line-up for the 2025 Disney Halloween Festival has not yet been announced, and it remains unclear whether Jack Skellington’s new look will already be featured this year in Disneyland Paris. However, updated character designs—especially for popular characters—often roll out quickly across multiple parks, so there’s a good chance we’ll see him in Paris soon.
