?? Afgelopen zaterdag vond de tweede editie plaats van het Disney Loves Jazz event in het Walt Disney Studios Park. Vorig jaar werd de eerste editie gehouden in September, dit jaar werd voor Juni gekozen.
Helaas werd de tweede editie een flop, met een geschatte amper 1000 gasten was het park leeg. Bij gelijkaardige gethematiseerde events voor Jaarpassen is de capaciteit ongeveer 4000 als die in het Walt Disney Studios Park plaatsvinden. Toen een tijd geleden de melding kwam dat er één van de twee Jazz concerten was afgelast werd het snel duidelijk dat het event geen succes ging worden en de ticketverkoop zwaar tegenviel.
De attracties die open waren hadden geen wachtrij alsook de verschillende Disney Characters zoals Oswald en Ortensia of Buzz Lightyear die soms moesten wachten tot er gasten kwamen voor een foto. Veel gasten verlieten het park vroeger dan het einde van het event omdat er niets meer te beleven viel.
Het is onduidelijk waarom ze in Disneyland Paris gekozen hebben om opnieuw een Disney Loves Jazz event te organiseren want ook vorig jaar was het niet 100% een succes. Toen werden er gratis tickets gegeven en werden ook ex-aandeelhouders uitgenodigd om het event gratis bij te wonen.
Eerder werd het Hip Hop Event, dat ook deze maand had moeten plaatsvinden, afgelast en was het Magical Pride event, van begin deze maand, niet uitverkocht. Tickets werden toen nog snel ter plaatse verkocht met grote kortingen. Disneyland Paris heeft een tijdje geleden een nieuwe afdeling opgestart “Disneyland Paris Event Group” die instaat voor extra events in de Parken na sluitingsuur met gering succes.
Het volgende event in de rij is Electroland binnen een paar weken en is net zoals de Magical Pride ook vooral gericht op het jongere festival publiek met veel drank en DJ’s. Daarna is het wachten tot september om nog eens een echt Disney event te kunnen beleven, de Characters Night voor jaarpashouders in het Disneyland Park. Dit event is intussen al een tijdje volledig uitverkocht.
Desondanks hadden de gasten die wel naar het Disney Loves Jazz event gingen een fantastische avond, want zeg nu zelf, wie droomt er niet om eens een Disney Park bijna voor jouw alleen te hebben?
?? Last Saturday the second edition of the Disney Loves Jazz event took place at the Walt Disney Studios Park. Last year the first edition was held in September, this year was chosen for June.
Unfortunately the second edition was a flop, with an estimated barely 1000 guests, the park was empty. For similar themed events for Annual Passes, the capacity is around 4,000 if they take place at Walt Disney Studios Park. A while ago it was reported that one of the two Jazz concerts had been canceled, it quickly became clear that the event was not going to be a success and ticket sales were disappointing.
The attractions that were open did not have a queue as well as the various Disney Characters such as Oswald and Ortensia or Buzz Lightyear that sometimes had to wait for guests to come for a photo. Many guests left the park earlier than the end of the event because there was nothing left to do.
It is unclear why Disneyland Paris chose to organize a Disney Loves Jazz event again, because last year it was not a 100% success. Then free tickets were given and former shareholders were invited to attend the event for free.
Earlier the Hip Hop Event, which should have taken place this month, was canceled and the Magical Pride event, from the beginning of this month, was not sold out. Tickets were then quickly sold at the park with a large discount. A while ago, Disneyland Paris started a new “Disneyland Paris Event Group” department that is responsible for additional events in the Parks after closing time with mixed success.
The next event in line is Electroland within a few weeks and, just like the Magical Pride, is mainly aimed at the younger festival audience with a lot of drinks and DJs. After that, it’s waiting until September to experience another real Disney event, the Characters Night for annual pass holders in Disneyland Park. This event has been completely sold out for a while now.
Nevertheless, the guests who did go to the Disney Loves Jazz event had a fantastic evening, because who doesn’t dream of having a Disney Park almost for yourself?
