Vorige week zondagavond konden wij deelnemen aan een Insidears event om definitief afscheid te nemen van de Rock’n’Roller Coaster in het Walt Disney Studios Park.
Tijdens de dag stonden al een grote aantal fans van ‘smorgens vroeg in rijen aan te schuiven voor hun laatste rit. Want behalve een laatste rit kreeg je vandaag ook bij het nemen van een Fastpass een mooi exclusief souvenir magazine die speciaal voor deze dag werd gemaakt.
De Rock’n’Roller Coaster werd geopend op 16 Maart 2002, samen met de rest van het Walt Disney Studios Park. Deze attractie is ook te vinden in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park van Walt Disney World, maar verteld daar een lichtjes ander verhaal en ook binnenin ziet de attractie er wat anders uit.
In Florida stap je aan boord van een Super Stretch Limo om op tijd te zijn voor een concert van Aerosmith, in Parijs stap je aan boord van een Soundtracker om in de testzone van een videoclip te belanden.
Rock’n’Roller Coaster is de tweede openingsattractie van het Walt Disney Studios Park park dat definitief zijn deuren sluit. Enkele maanden geleden namen we nog afscheid van Armageddon – Special Effects.
In tegenstelling tot Armageddon die intussen helemaal werd afgebroken om plaats te maken voor een gloednieuwe Spider-Man attactie blijft de achtbaan van de Rock’n’Roller Coaster gewoon staan.
Deze baan met bijbehorende voorshow en wachtrij krijgt een volledig nieuw thema. Vanaf 2021 zal dit een Iron Man coaster worden, die deel uitmaakt van het grote Avengers Campus ter vervanging van het oude Backlot gedeelte in het park.
