?? De prijzen van Jaarpassen voor Disneyland Paris gaan opnieuw de hoogte in. Enkele jaren geleden, net op tijd voor de start van de 25ste verjaardag van Disneyland Paris, werden alle jaarpassen veranderd met een stevige prijsverhoging.
De duurste jaarpas, die toen nog de naam “Dream” had, droeg een prijskaartje van 199 euro, met extra 6 maanden gratis bij vernieuwing. Daarna werden de jaarpassen hervormd en ook de namen veranderd. De duurste jaarpas was dan een “Infitnity” en kostte het dubbele ten opzicht van een “Dream” en de 6 maanden gratis bij verlenging werden verminderd naar 4 maanden. Bij de hervorming werden er ook enkele nieuwe VIP opties toegevoegd, zoals de Infinity parking of de Disney Photopass+ die in de Infinity jaarpas inbegrepen waren.
Vorige jaar werden de jaarpassen opnieuw verhoogd. De Infinity jaarpas niet, deze prijs werd bevroren voor 2 jaar na de lancering. Maar nu zijn die 2 jaren verstreken en komt er dus niet onverwacht een nieuwe prijsverhoging voor de Infinity, maar ook voor de andere jaarpassen.
Wie het nieuws en de manier van denken bij Disneyland Paris wat kent, zag dit aankomen. Afgelopen maanden werden de gewone parktickets verhoogd, de Disney Photopass+ verhoogd, de parking verhoogd….allemaal “voordelen” die inbegrepen zijn in bepaalde jaarpassen. Door deze verhogingen door te voeren, verhoog je ook de “waarde” van de jaarpassen, waardoor een prijsverhoging normaal lijkt.
Een gezin van 4 personen die een Infinity Jaarkaart willen voor Disneyland Paris gaan inééns 200 euro meer moeten betalen, tenzij ze naar een Magic Plus overschakelen en enkele voordelen daarvoor afgeven. Je kan perfect naar Disneyland Paris gaan met een Magic Plus jaarkaart, alleen zijn er veel mensen die bij de hervorming een Infinity jaarpas gekocht hebben en twee jaar lang hebben kunnen genieten van de Infinity Parking, de zwembaden in de Disney Hotels, de gereserveerde plaatsen voor de Parade en Illuminations en de Disney Photopass+. Het is nu afwachten hoeveel mensen deze voordelen opnieuw kunnen missen door over te schakelen naar een Magic Plus als blijkt dat een Infinity Jaarpas de grens heeft overschreden.
Mijn eigen opinie is dat het plafond reeds bereikt was, niet alleen voor jaarpassen maar voor alle prijzen die Disneyland Paris vraagt in vergelijking met wat Disneyland Paris te bieden heeft. Je kan Disneyland Paris niet vergelijken met Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland of bijvoorbeeld Disneyland in California, want in al deze parken zijn er meer attracties en is de service veel beter.
Niet alleen heeft het Disneyland Park vandaag nog altijd veel minder attracties dan vele andere “Magic Kingdom’s” in de andere Disney Resorts, maar is het Walt Disney Studios Park ook nog altijd een klein en lelijk park die weinig te bieden heeft. En dat zal de komende jaren zeker niet verbeteren met alle verbouwen die eraan komen. Ook het onderhoud en de service, de vriendelijkheid van de Cast Members (vooral bij Guest Flow) blijkt opnieuw een stap achteruit te doen na de 25ste verjaardag.
Enkele weken geleden werd de kasteelbrug nog afgesloten omdat er stukjes van het kasteel naar beneden konden vallen, zien we het “nog-niet-zo-lang-gerenoveerde” Big Thunder Mountain al opnieuw vuil worden en blijven er soms attracties gesloten wegens laagseizoen bijvoorbeeld de Studio Tram Tour. Het enige wat we in Disneyland Paris wel hebben is dat er vaak verschillende entertainment te zien is en dat seizoenen zoals Halloween en zeker ook Kerst uitgebreid aan bod komen in het entertainment programma. Ook de organisatie wat restaurants betreft is al jaren uitermate slecht, dat zijn toch dingen die echt niet kunnen als je altijd maar je prijzen blijft verhogen.
Het Walt Disney Studios Park zal binnen 6-7 jaren er helemaal anders uitzien dan nu, met alle nieuwe attracties en uitbreidingen. Maar als er nu al constant prijsverhogingen zijn, jaren voordat er iets nieuws geopend wordt in het Walt Disney Studios Park of Disneyland Park, wat gaan de prijsverhogingen dan zijn tegen de tijd dat er wel nieuwe attracties geopend worden? Een vooruitblik:
Als je om de 2 jaar een verhoging van 50 euro invoert voor de jaarpassen dan is dat het resultaat:
2019: 449 euro (Infinity Jaarpas)
2021: 499 euro
2023: 549 euro
2025: 599 euro
2027: 649 euro
Op het einde van alle uitbreidingen dat we momenteel kennen voor het Walt Disney Studios Park zou een Infinity Jaarpas 649 euro kosten en een Magic Plus 499 euro voor 2 volledige Disney Parken. Vergelijk daarmee de huidige prijs van Walt Disney World 894 dollar (ongeveer 800 euro) voor 4 parken en 994 dollar (ongeveer 880 euro) voor 4 parken en 2 waterparken en andere voordelen.
Dit zijn de nieuwe prijzen voor jaarpassen in Disneyland Paris, geldig vanaf 2 april voor nieuwe jaarpassen en verlengingen.

- Magic Plus: 299 euro (oude prijs: 259 euro)

?? The prices of Annual Passes for Disneyland Paris go up again. A few years ago, just in time for the start of the 25th anniversary of Disneyland Paris, all annual passes were changed with a big price increase.
The most expensive Annual pass, which at that time still had the name “Dream”, carried a price tag of 199 euros, with an extra 6 months for free on renewal. Thereafter, the annual passes were reformed and the names also changed. The most expensive Annual pass was then an “Infitnity” and it cost double compared to a “Dream” and the 6 months free were reduced to 4 months. During the reform some new VIP options were added, such as the Infinity parking or the Disney Photopass + both included in the Infinity Annual pass.
Last year, the annual passes were increased again. The Infinity annual pass was not, this price was frozen for 2 years after the launch. But now those 2 years have passed and so here is the expected new price increase for the Infinity, but also for the other annual passes.
Whoever knows the news and way of thinking at Disneyland Paris saw this coming. In recent months the regular park tickets were increased, the Disney Photopass + increased, the parking increased …. all of this are “benefits” included in certain annual passes. By making these increases, you also increase the “value” of the annual passes, which makes a price increase seem normal.
A family of 4 who want an Infinity Annual Pass for Disneyland Paris are going to have to pay 200 euros more, unless they switch to a Magic Plus and saying goodbye to some benefits. You can perfectly go to Disneyland Paris with a Magic Plus annual pass, only there are many people who have bought an Infinity annual pass during the reform and have been able to enjoy for 2 years the Infinity Parking, the swimming pools at the Disney Hotels, the reserved places for the Parade and Illuminations and the Disney Photopass +. We now have to wait and see how many people can miss these benefits again by switching to a Magic Plus if it turns out that an Infinity Annual Pass has crossed the border.
My own opinion is that the ceiling was already reached, not only for annual passes but for all the prices that Disneyland Paris asks now in comparison with what Disneyland Paris has to offer. You can not compare Disneyland Paris with Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland or Disneyland in California, because in all these parks there are more attractions and the service is much better.
Not only does Disneyland Park still have far fewer attractions today than many other “Magic Kingdoms” in the other Disney Resorts, also Walt Disney Studios Park is still a small and ugly park that has little to offer. And that will certainly not improve in the coming years with all the renovations coming. Also the maintenance and service, the friendliness of the Cast Members (especially guest flow) is going a step backwards again for some time now after the 25th anniversary.
A few weeks ago, the castle bridge was closed because pieces of the castle could fall down, we see the “not-so-long-renovated” Big Thunder Mountain already getting dirty again and sometimes attractions remain closed due to low season, for example the Studio Tram Tour. The only thing we have at Disneyland Paris is that there is often different entertainment to see and that seasons such as Halloween and certainly also Christmas is celebrated big. Also the organization with regard to restaurants has been extremely bad for years, these are things that really can not be done if you always keep increasing your prices.
The Walt Disney Studios Park will look completely different within 6-7 years than it does now, with all new attractions and expansions. But if there are already constant price increases, years before something new is opened in the Walt Disney Studios Park or Disneyland Park, what will the price increases be, by the time new attractions are opened?
