?? Vorige week was het opnieuw tijd voor een Insidears convention in Disneyland Paris, exclusief voor leden, en intussen weten we allemaal welk nieuws op het event gegeven werd. Zoals een preview van het Lion King & Jungle Festival, details en heropening van Phantom Manor of de nieuwe Frozen Experience in het voormalige Art of Disney Animation gebouw in het Walt Disney Studios Park.
Maar laten we eens kijken naar de onderwerpen waar we geen informatie over kregen en waarschijnlijk iedereen wel op gehoopt had.
- Sinds de bekendmaking van de grote uitbreiding van het Walt Disney Studios Park zit iedere Disney fan spanned te wachten bij iedere vorm van event om meer informatie en details te krijgen over deze uitbreidingen en eventuele nieuwe attracties. Maar ook hier werd er geen nieuwe informatie gegeven daarover, enkel het nieuwe Marvel land kwam even aan bod tijdens het Marvel gedeelte van het event. Jammergenoeg werd hier vooral gesproken over een Marvel attractie in Hong Kong Disneyland terwijl wij daar waren voor nieuws uit Disneyland Paris. Geen nieuwe concept art werd getoond, behalve diegene die een tijdje geleden al werd vrijgegeven.
- Enkele weken geleden werd net zoals de attractie Armageddon, ook de attractie Disney Junior Live on Stage gesloten. Over de sluiting of de nieuwe invulling van Disney Junior Live on Stage werd er niets gezegd. Via niet officiële accounts worden er foto’s gelekt van een concept met grote tribunes en een podium die voor entertainment kunnen dienen of ook voor special events. Maar tijdens Insidears werd dit niet één keer vernoemd.
- Vorig jaar werd er tijdens het entertainment gedeelte veel informatie gegeven over het aankomende Halloween seizoen in het najaar, zoals toen de nieuwe paradewagen die gebaseerd was op Phantom Manor. Maar tijdens deze editie kwam het Halloween seizoen totaal niet aan bod, terwijl we intussen wel weten dat er nieuwe entertainment zal komen waarin Ursula een grote rol zal krijgen.
- Ook over het Kerstseizoen werd er vorig jaar informatie gegeven waarin de 90ste verjaardag van Mickey centraal stond alsook de verhuis van Mickey’s Christmas Big Band naar het Walt Disney Studios Park.
- Tijdens het gesprek met Daniel Delcourt kwamen er dit jaar geen vragen van de fans zoals vorig jaar, maar was het een zeer algemeen gesprek zonder veel details. Ook de huidige renovaties werden hier besproken zoals Autopia en Cars Race Rally, over de grote renovatie van Dumbo of een eventuele grote renovatie van Buzz Lightyear in Discoveryland, die er op dit moment zeer slecht uitziet, werd niets gezegd. Ook over de onderwerpen zoals de heraanleg van de vloer bij Ratatouille ,die vorig jaar werd aangekondigd en uiteindelijk werd geannuleerd, werd geen informatie gegeven.
- De grote “scoop” dit jaar was de heropening van Phantom Manor, vorig jaar was dat de komst van Mickey’s Philharmagic in Discoveryland. Een scoop van een echte nieuwigheid kregen we dit jaar niet. De focus lag vooral op enkele events zoals de Magical Pride, Disney Loves Jazz en Electroland, maar geen woord over de Hip Hop Experience in het Walt Disney Studios Park. Een event zoals Rendez-Vous Gourmand kwam niet ter sprake waardoor het niet duidelijk of er een nieuwe editie komt. Het is ook nog altijd onduidelijk wat er zal gebeuren met het Studio Theatre nadat het Marvel seizoen en de previews voor Toy Story 4 afgelopen zijn. Zal dit theater opnieuw ongebruikt blijven staan tot aan het Kerstseizoen?
- Over geruchten zoals de komst van een Mickey’s Runaway Railway attractie werd niets gezegd.
Ook na het grote Insidears event blijven er nog heel wat onduidelijkheden.
?? Last week it was time again for an Insidears convention at Disneyland Paris, exclusively for members, and meanwhile we all know what news was given at the event. Such as a preview of the Lion King & Jungle Festival, details and reopening of Phantom Manor or the new Frozen Experience in the former Art of Disney Animation building in the Walt Disney Studios Park.
But let’s look at the topics we didn’t get any information about were probably everyone hoped for.
- Since the announcement of the major expansion of the Walt Disney Studios Park, every Disney fan has been waiting for every form of event to get more information and details about these expansion and any new attractions. But again, no new information was given about this, only the new Marvel land was briefly discussed during the Marvel part of the event. Unfortunately there was mainly talk of a Marvel attraction in Hong Kong Disneyland while we were there for news from Disneyland Paris. No new concept art was shown, except the one that was released a while ago.
- A few weeks ago, just like the Armageddon attraction, the Disney Junior Live on Stage attraction was closed. Nothing was said about the closure or the new destination of Disney Junior Live on Stage. Photos were leaked from unofficial accounts of a concept with large stands and a stage that can serve as entertainment venue or also for special events. But this was not mentioned once during Insidears.
- Last year much information was given during the entertainment section about the upcoming Halloween season in the fall, such as the new parade float based on Phantom Manor. But during this edition the Halloween season was not discussed at all, while we know that there will be new entertainment in which Ursula will play a major role.
- Last year also provided information about the Christmas season, focusing on Mickey’s 90th birthday and the move of Mickey’s Christmas Big Band to Walt Disney Studios Park. This year nothing about Christmas at all.
- During the conversation with Daniel Delcourt this year there were no questions from the fans like last year, but it was a very general conversation without many details. Current renovations were also discussed here, such as Autopia and Cars Race Rally, nothing was said about the major renovation of Dumbo or any major renovation of Buzz Lightyear in Discoveryland, which currently looks very bad. No information was given on subjects such as the renovation of the floor at Ratatouille, which was announced last year and was eventually canceled.
- The big “scoop” this year was the reopening of Phantom Manor, last year it was the arrival of Mickey’s Philharmagic in Discoveryland. We didn’t get a scoop of a real novelty this year. The focus was mainly on a few events such as the Magical Pride, Disney Loves Jazz and Electroland, but not a word about the Hip Hop Experience in the Walt Disney Studios Park. An event such as Rendez-Vous Gourmand also was not mentioned, so it is not clear whether there will be a new edition. It is also still unclear what will happen to the Studio Theater after the Marvel season and the previews for Toy Story 4 have ended. Will this theater remain unused again until the Christmas season?
- Nothing was said about rumors such as the arrival of a Mickey’s Runaway Railway attraction.
Even after the big Insidears event, there are still a lot of questions.
